The Cake & Bake Show November 04 2014
At the beginning of October we packed up our van and set off for Earls Court London for The Cake & Bake Show. Having attended the show for the past two years as a cake eating spectator I was excited to be exhibiting at the event. With the likes of Mary Berry, past and present Great British Bake Off winners and contestants and baking and chocolate experts galore it was bound to be a brilliant event.
Attending these big events is pretty daunting and despite having done lots of events before this was our biggest yet. No matter how much you draw out the stand space in the living room and draft up plans for the stand, the space always looks smaller when you get there! However, the set up went well and was pretty straightforward despite the fact that we had to build two shelves and realised we should have brought the electric drill (cue find nice person who could loan us theirs!).
Voila the Stand!
We were pretty pleased with our stand and we got lots of great feedback from other exhibitors and customers and our bunting was pretty popular too, so much so that we could have sold it 20 times over!
The event ran from Friday to Sunday and we were told that Saturday was the big day to look forward to. Friday started well and was busy but quietened down mid afternoon. Saturday was very very busy, perhaps a bit too busy as people were getting quite frustrated with the crowds, but it was our busiest day. The last and final day was also much busier than predicted. All in all we got great feedback from customers who all loved our products and our new cards and products proved popular.
After 3 days, over 30,000 visitors and lots of cake and goodies consumed by us it was all over. Next year it's moving to Excel and new cities have just been announced too. Looks like The Cake & Bake show is growing!
